5 movies to be screened at Saudi Film Festival

The sixth edition of the Saudi Film Festival has kicked off virtually on Tuesday September 1st 2020, which is organized by the Culture and Arts Association in Dammam, in partnership with the King Abdul Aziz Center for World Culture and supported by the Film Commission of the Ministry of Culture.

The six-day film festival, held virtually from 1 till 6th September, celebrates every year Saudi films and filmmakers, as it includes the screenings of their movies, discussion panels, symposia and awards.

Here are some exciting movies that will be screened during the 6th edition of Saudi Film Festival.

 

And When Do I Sleep

Adam is unable to sleep, so he decides to spend the night at work. Suddenly he hears a woman's voice calling him from the kitchen, but he finds no one there before finding himself in a whirl of dreams. The film, directed by the Palestinian Hussam Al-Sayed, based in Saudi Arabia, is about internal conflicts that prevents Adam to sleep.

A drama movie, directed by Saudi Khaled Nadershah, who tells the story of a divorced young Saudi college girl, Sara, who decides to move forward in her life but she find herself trapped in her society’s norms and traditions.

 

 

 

Senses

A short documentary movie, directed by Khaled Zidan, based in Jizan. He won the Best Young Director award for "Tawq Najat" movie screened at Los Angeles Film Festival in 2019, and today he is competing virtually at the Saudi Film Festival in his new movie Senses.

 

 

 

The Circle

A drama movie, directed by Ahmad Ibrahim, telling the story of a young man named Mohammad who became depressed after losing his bike as a child.

 

 

Remember Me

Director Mohammad Hammad says that this movie is an experimental ode to Al Balad, which is a town that acted as a primary gateway to Makkah. Hammad decided to cast the neighborhood’s children as actors and crew members.
