Brioche bread

Ingredients

3 ½ cups of flour
2 tablespoons of yeast
½ of warm milk
7 eggs at room temperature
½ cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of salt
1 cup of butter
1 Tablespoon of water

How to prepare

Mix 1 cup of flour with yeast and milk using an electric mixer. Cover the bowl and set aside for 45 minutes.

Add 6 eggs, 2 and a half cups of flour, sugar and salt to the dough, mix well for 10 minutes.

Gradually add butter and continue mixing for 7 minutes.

Cover the dough with plastic paper and let it rest for an hour or until it doubles in size.

Spread the dough over a surface covered with flour and divide it in two. Then divide each section into six equal pieces. Mold each piece in a rectangular shape then fold shorter sides together; turn it then wrap it well. Repeat the same with all pieces, then place them side by side in a rectangular tray. Set aside to double its size.

In a small bowl, mix one egg with water then paint your brioches with it, before placing them in a pre-heated oven for 30 minutes. Turn the bread over after it cools down.
