Catwalk Sparkle: Like Mother Like Daughter

We recently witnessed daughters of famous fashion models following in their mothers’ footsteps on social media and through international fashion news. Many of these ‘80s and ‘90s models are regaining their glory today with the incredible shine of their daughters on the catwalks while others are reigning today’s fashion world, like Lebanese international model Nour Arida and her famous daughter Ayla on Tik Tok, who have been attending together many international shows.

The most prominent example in our Arab world is Ayla, the daughter of the Lebanese model and influencer Nour Arida. The duo appears sometimes strolling around the city with cool matching outfits, or attending at other times international fashion shows, having joined in 2019 the Paris Fashion Week and participated in the SS20 show for international designer Rabih Kayrouz.

Kaia Gerber followed in the footsteps of her mother, the '90s catwalks iconic star Cindy Crawford. Born from the marriage of Cindy Crawford to businessman Randy Gerber, Kaia began her modeling career when she was 10 years old with Versace, and is still contracting with the largest fashion houses in the world, such as Alexander Wang, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and others. The 20-year-old model recently appeared on the cover of ELLE America's December issue, just like her mom 27 years ago. Same look, same attitude!

 

 

 

Valerie Maurice Campbell… and Naomi

Who among us wasn’t attracted to the gorgeous Naomi Campbell, who had sparkled on the catwalks around the world back in the 1990s? But here, it was the mother, Valerie Morris-Campbell, who followed in the footsteps of her daughter Naomi, joining her on the Mugler catwalk Spring/Summer 1994 in 1993 at the age of 42. Two exceptionally dazzling beauties!

 

 

Vanessa Paradis and Lily-Rose

Vanessa Paradis may have preferred singing and acting to modeling, but she was the ultimate inspiration for the late designer Karl Lagerfeld when he was taking the reins of Maison Chanel. The daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, continued her mother's career and debuted on the Chanel catwalk in 2016. Although they are not professional models, they are among the first to attend all Chanel fashion shows.

Lila-Grace Moss Hack entered the modeling industry at the same age as her mother, Kate Moss, who left her mark on the fashion industry in the 1990s. The mother and daughter duo appeared during Couture Week in Paris at the Fendi SS21 runway show, where they walked in their first show together, making an exceptional impression.
