Face Mask Paying Tribute to UAE

Born and raised in Dubai, the 27 year old Dubai designer Jino Marie Joy, launched a new collection of facemasks, including one embroidered with UAE map, as she paid tribute to the land she calls it home.

“The New Normal”, as she described our daily accessory and named the collection, the designer behind Stone Gray label created facemasks that are made with reusable fabric and with a customization option.

For her tribute to the UAE, Jino Marie Joy said: " Just hearing of the amazing work the UAE does every day to curb the spread of Covid-19 made me want to design these masks as a small token of appreciation and positivity - both of which are really needed at this time. "

Jino said that she started designing facemasks as a response to family and friends’ requests, who wanted an alternative to the ones available in the market. However, Stone Grey designer didn’t expect that her facemasks designs would be so popular.

"I'd planned to do it as a campaign at first, simply to spread awareness on what the new normal would be, maybe even as a conversation starter on sustainability. That quickly became so well-received that we decided to go all out."

Stone Grey label is always making sure to design sustainable pieces, as it stands for slow fashion and mindful shopping, therefore Jino needed to create facemasks that complies with this, a concept that really matters to her.

These facemasks are handmade and reusable, they are not designed in bulk but on demand, also they do not exceed 50 AED.
