Saudi Women breaking the stereotype

Saudi Arabia has witnessed major changes in the past years, allowing women to drive and travel without the consent of their guardian. Since then, Saudi women have been able to break the stereotype and open up to the world even more.

Who are the Saudi women who broke the stereotype?

 

Rania Nashar

Rania Nashar ranked 97th on Forbes’ "World's 100 Most Powerful Woman 2020". Rania is the CEO of Samba Financial Group, which made her the first female CEO of Saudi commercial bank.

 

Manal Al Dabbagh

Manal al-Dabbagh broke the stereotype of Saudi women after becoming the first Saudi female sports photographer who took pictures during Football World Cup.  Also, she earned many prized and honors.

 

Rima Al Ruwaisan

Saudi businesswoman Rima Al-Ruwaisan was ranked among the "150 most powerful women in the world" according to Newsweek magazine. She earned the Global Leadership Medal, becoming the first Saudi and Arab woman to receive this honor.

   

Adwa Al Arifi

Her passion for football led Adwa Al Arifi to break Saudi women stereotype after being named the first female committee member in Saudi Arabia’s Football Federation.

 

Haya Al Shammari

Haya Al Shammari is the first Saudi woman to serve as a volunteer assistant judge in a US court. She is a legal researcher practicing advocacy and studying for a postgraduate diploma.
