Taylor Swift Slams Her Former Record Label

The old feud between Taylor Swift and her former record label Big Machine is back again, after Taylor called them Shameless and greedy for releasing a live album of a past Swift performance. Noting that Swift recorded her first albums with Big Machine before moving to Universal Music Group. Thus, Big Machine owns the master recordings of her back catalogue.

The singer went to her Instagram stories for some clarifications, she wrote: “Hey guys — I want to thank my fans for making me aware that my former record label is putting out an ‘album’ of live performances of mine tonight. This recording is from a 2008 radio show performance I did when I was 18.”

She called the release by the Big Machine Label Group "another case of shameless greed in the time of coronavirus.”

Swift has publicly feuded with Big Machine’s senior executives over the use of her old songs. The feus escalated last November when music executive Scooter Braun said his family had received death threats because of Swift's remarks, which is denied by Taylor.
