Saint Laurent turns the desert into a runway for Spring Summer 2021 collection

We’re not denying, the world is going through an uncertain period, and Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent’s creative director was finding the essence of things in his Spring/Summer 2021 collection, which he showed in the middle of an unknown desert, and the teaser for the show was an image of the house's giant logo engraved into sand.
"The desert, to me, symbolizes that yearn for serenity, open space, a slower rhythm. The clothes are also softer, the spirit of the collection is more gentle, stripped back" Says Vaccarello
In the details, we saw minimalist and soft shapes in a thick jersey uncovered from the house’s late 60s archives.
The collection was a mix between night-wear and comfortable day wear mixing all the worries with hopes and new passions together.

We saw how Vacarello succeeded in outlining the body without constricting it. Pocketed tunics and jackets are the new La Saharienne. A silk blouse worn with rider shorts, or the jumpsuit, both are emphasizing a lean silhouette.
For the “in” life, we loved the floral explosion of chiffon with fluffy fringes, a not so quaint charm somewhere between fantasy and fancy.
Jewelry is illuminating the muted colors of the collection, dedicated to the freedom of movement.
