In a TikTok video, Paris Hilton asked everyone not to believe everything they read.
She explained that her infamous T-shirt with "Stop Being Poor" printed on it, is actually photoshopped. A clarification that undoubtedly restores “part” of her reputation.
You've probably seen this photo of Paris Hilton wearing a white "Stop Being Poor" tank top. The image is regularly used as a meme and had become one of the most famous photos of the the DJ, reality star and heiress, known for her misbehavior, drunken outings and inability to live “The simple life”. At the beginning of the 2000’s, Paris cultivated the image of a privileged brainless blondie. In a TikTok video published on Tuesday, May 3, now viewed more than 4.5 million times, Paris Hilton debunks the infamous white tank top: "I never wore that shirt" she said. “It was completely Photoshopped. Everyone thinks it's real, but that’s not the truth. ”
"Stop being desperate"
Paris then revealed a photo of her with sister Nick, and the “Stop being desperate” was printed on the top that she says is the original. "Don't believe everything you read," the businesswoman adds, putting an end to a myth. According to KnowYourMeme, the edit was made by a Tumblr user in 2013 in an attempt to poke fun at the Hilton class contempt before it hit the web. These photos were taken in 2005 at the after-party for the Chick by Nicky Hilton brand fashion show in Las Vegas.
Today, the star is 40 years old and obviously wants to be more discreet on the media scene. Recently, the entrepreneur has even embodied the prestigious Lanvin house’s spring-summer 2021 campaign and she looked extremely soft in an intimate and elegant photoshoot. In October 2020, Youtube Originals dedicated a documentary to her entitled “This is Paris”in which we discover a more nuanced woman.
