Manspreading Is Banned In Madrid
What the…?
19-June-2017
So, manspreading is no longer allowed in public transportation in Madrid. But wait, what does ‘manspreading’ actually mean? For those who didn’t know, it’s the way men sit in public transport with their legs wide apart. But isn’t it just how men sit?
It’s actually a group of women who has launched a campaign to stop the practice. The group, called Mujeres en Lucha asked Madrid City Hall to put up some posters to get men to stop sitting that way, simply because they’re taking up too much space on the train and metro seats.
Mujeres en Lucha has also shared an online petition with the hashtag #MadridSinManspreading. Well, if you think about it, it’s kind of legit!
