Blake Lively Wears Britney Spears’ Iconic Versace Dress

American actress Blake Lively attended the premiere of her movie “It Ends with Us”, in a jaw-dropping look that also paid homage to Britney Spears.

Accompanied by her husband, Ryan Reynolds, the “Gossip Girl” star wore a vintage Versace gown with a gorgeous one-shoulder blue strap and green, pink and purple studs in floral patterns.

On the red carpet, Lively confirmed that the dress was the same one worn by the pop icon Britney Spears at Versace’s Milan Fashion Week show in 2002 as part of the fashion brand’s spring/summer 2003 collection. “It is Britney’s actual dress,” she said. “It should be in the Smithsonian or the Met. But it’s on me. I feel so lucky!”

Blake clarified her fashion choice on her Instagram story, praising Spears as “the ultimate queen.”

“Britney, us millennials all have a story of a moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work,” Lively wrote alongside an image of Spears wearing the Versace dress. “Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories.” She added.
