Burning Rose, a standout in Carolina Herrera’s Confidential Collection, is inspired to the elegant floral compositions created by Carolina Herrera herself during her stays at Hacienda La Vega. This exquisite fragrance, which captivated Princess Margaret of England in 1973, combines the timeless beauty of the Damascene rose with an alluring blend of spicy and mysterious notes. Pepper, ginger, cinnamon, patchouli, and myrrh intertwine to create a scent that embodies sophistication and intrigue.
The historic Hacienda La Vega of the Herrera family, a paradise with lush vegetation and elegant and sophisticated interiors, was an oasis in which Princess Margaret of England landed around 1973.
"My first memory when I think of Hacienda La Vega are the rose bushes of different species that my grandfather had planted in the surroundings of the house," says Carolina A. Herrera. "There was not a single variety of rose bush, but many very different ones, of all colors, and those contrasts gave the rose garden a very special character."
Burning Rose, the most expansive and romantic fragrance of the Signature Collection of the Confidential line, evokes that chromatic fullness through the image of a rose of such a fiery color that it seems red hot and that updates the olfactory wake. The top
notes, with black pepper and ginger, provide the perfect spark for an unprecedented fragrant detonation. At the heart of the fragrance, the Damascene rose, one of the most appreciated in perfumery, coexists with the spicy notes of cinnamon.
As time passes, the base notes emerge, with an oriental sumptuousness unprecedented in rose perfume: an almost phosphorescent patchouli and the sacred nobility of myrrh.
"For me, Burning Rose is a dreamlike synthesis of that dream place called Hacienda La Vega that I knew as a child. It was a technicolor paradise where I learned to distinguish colors and plants by name, a garden where I began to love nature and an elegant and sublime house, with mysterious and unexpected decorative details.”
