Adidas Collaborates with Parley
20-October-2017
Parley is Adidas' partner in the Parley A.I.R Strategy, which turns ocean plastic waste into thread that is woven into running shoes. Each shoe uses an average of 11 plastic bottles per pair and incorporates recycled plastic into the shoe's laces, heel webbing, heel lining, and sock liner covers. With new ocean-inspired coloring, Adidas is releasing "Parley" versions of its most popular Boost running shoes: the Ultraboost, Ultraboost X, and Ultraboost Uncaged. The product has been launched on October 14th.
With increased pollution rates in the oceans, we are facing the potential extinction of many sea life species and the interruption of the entire ecosystem. In line with this, we believe that The Parley Strategy is addressing the fast-growing and global threat of plastic pollution based on the belief that plastic is a design failure, one that can only be solved by reinventing the material itself.
