After the baggy jeans, skinny jeans are making a comeback, and with them, the boot tuck technique—tucking ultra-slim pants into boots for a sleek, elongated look. This trend, long embraced by celebrities, offers a stylish compromise for those hesitant to revisit skinny jeans.

The boot tuck has been a fashion staple since Lady Diana first wore it in 1988 with cowboy boots and denim. Over the years, icons like Kate Middleton, Emily Ratajkowski and Kate Moss have kept the look alive, each adding their own twist. Most recently, Melania Trump showcased it in early 2025, while luxury brands continue to feature it on the runway.

High fashion has never truly abandoned this styling trick. Celine highlighted it in their 2019 and 2020 collections, and Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 2025 show took it to the extreme with oversized thigh-high boots enveloping pants entirely. The trend is now evolving beyond womenswear, becoming a unisex statement.

How to Wear It?

For a refined look, pair black or gray skinny jeans with sleek leather boots and a long wool coat, à la Kate Moss. Those feeling bolder can opt for colorful cowboy boots with neutral denim or experiment with textures and patterns for a standout ensemble.
With its blend of practicality and style, the boot tuck proves that skinny jeans remain a fashion essential in 2025, transforming a once-divisive piece into a chic must-have.
