The Chunky Chain Necklaces Are Here To Stay
Anne-Sophie Mallard – Madame Figaro

From runways straight to street style and Instagram, chunky chain necklaces have been a huge trend. And it’s clear to see that they are here to stay, whether this spring or next fall.
An iconic jewel is the one that stays in style with every new variation added to its original design, and chains have proved to be an investment worth making.
Here are two of our favorite masterpiece chain necklaces setting the tone this season.
Louis Vuitton had already taken his share of the game with its sets of necklaces, signed by Virgil Abloh for the men’s collection of the French house. This was before spotting the sharp vision of the new director of the women accessories of the brand, Johnny Coca (whose work we had already admired during his time at Mulberry). The new creative director has revamped the house’s accessories, from sunglasses to bags, and of course, the chain necklaces which he stamped with the house’s monogram.
Appointed last June at the head of Givenchy, Californian Matthew Williams directly imposed his rebellious spirit and his visual obsessions. We saw a full-bodied padlock with the signature double G, and a choker with punk charm that punctuated the masculine and feminine silhouettes of his first collection. A charming asset that we also find in the front row of the house's fall-winter 2021-2022 show, but mellowed by an all-black version as well calibrated for the daily looks as for the evening.
