Chanel will present its 2021/22 Métiers d'art collection on Tuesday, December 7th 2021 at the brand new 19M building, nestled in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, with a show in this new site imagined by Chanel and dedicated to the Fashion Métiers d'art. A bold and symbolic choice for the French fashion house, and here’s why.

“Le19M – 19 for the Parisian arrondissement that welcomes it at Porte d'Aubervilliers, and one of CHANEL's emblematic numbers; M for the words mains, mode, métiers, maisons and manufactures [hands, fashion, craftsmanship, houses and factories]. A link between Paris, the historic capital of creation, and an area of booming development, le19M embodies the excellence of the Métiers d'art and CHANEL's pioneering commitment to the preservation and development of historical fashion savoir-faire,” outlines the French house in a press release.
Over an area of 25,500 m2, this unique building designed by the architect Rudy Ricciotti brings together under one roof, 11 specialist artisanal companies and their six hundred artisans and experts working for Chanel and other great names in luxury.
The same commitment of the House is behind the Chanel Métiers d'art collection, created to pay tribute to the skilled seamstresses and artisans who add magnificence to the creations of the luxury French house. Every year since 2002, this Ready-to-Wear collection, unique in the fashion world, highlights the wealth and diversity of the Métiers d'art.
“By choosing le19M as the backdrop to the 2021/22 Métiers d'art show, Chanel reaffirms its desire to celebrate this exceptional artisanal heritage, the very cornerstone of French fashion and luxury’s influence around the world,” said Chanel.
