Will Penélope Cruz's Square and Red Nails Revive a 1990s Trend?
Justine Feutry – Madame Figaro
13-October-2022
In the middle of promoting her latest film, Penélope Cruz has unveiled a bold manicure both in form and color.
In full promotion of the thriller En Los Màrgenes by Juan Diego Botto, the actress has bet on a beauty detail that takes her out of her comfort zone. On October 3, then the next day, Penélope Cruz appeared with false square nails. A bold choice, opposite the trend "claws" that seduces the generation Z.

First lacquered with white, then resolutely flamboyant in a red color, the manicure has been transformed in two days. The one who shares the life of Javier Bardem opted for neon red nails with a white shirt tuxedo and black tie, thus bringing a very femme fatale touch to her look in the male spirit.
As for the square shape, it obviously evokes the 90s, a strong inspiration in both fashion and beauty.
