Hermès Kite Festival Lands in Dubai this February

Hermès Kite Festival.. an event like no other. The first ever Hermès Kite Festival took place in Indonesia in October 2022. Marking the start of a series of joyful and convivial moment. From 10th February to 12th February, the Hermès Kite Festival will open its doors to the public for the first time in Dubai at Sunset Beach View before continuing its flight around the world, alighting in particular in Argentina, China and Korea. For the Hermès Kite Festival, they’ve been made from technical fabric so as to transform into kites and fly their designs in the sky over Dubai.

Imagine a moment as light as a kite and as poetic as a Hermès scarf in flight. Imagine a moment in which nothing exists but the sky, the colors of the silk, and the promises of the wnd, with joy as a banner. Marvelous, isn’t it?

“Plumets et Panaches,” “Robe légère,” and “Sur mon nuage” scarves will spin new tales as they sail through the air. Bandanas, losanges, and shawls will become novel flying objects too. The women’s and men’s silk collections will come together to dance among the clouds. There will be perches from which to admire the spectacle, workshops where you can enjoy creating your own kite, and the sea in the distance. A time of lightness to play with gravity. It will be as simple and joyous as a summer sky. And, when the sunset comes, music will echo over the open-air beach, rendering a light atmosphere of twilight.

Kite workshop

Learn, individually or with a group, to make a kite from technical fabric: kite lovers can make flying objects from this textile, printed with scarf designs, to create colourful shapes that dart into the great wide open. In less than an hour, they’ll become aerial engineers of the highest order.

Flying school and kite contest

Learn to fly these unique kites, to launch them into the sky for madcap races. Novice kite flyers will learn to play with the wind, getting these scarves to glide through the sky, making them take off, land, and take flight again and again. Aim your kite for the heavens, defying altitude and wind alike.

Aerial choreographies

Be dazzled at the sight of aerial demonstrations by professional kite flyers. By manoeuvring spectacular kites, they’ll perform novel ballets in the air.
