Polka Dots for Spring? Groundbreaking!

Polka Dots have always been a staple print inside our spring-summer closet, just like tiger, leopard or snakeskin prints, because they remain constant and never fade away. Quoting Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada: “Polka-Dots for spring? Groundbreaking!”

Apparently, Miranda was right when it comes to merging polka-dots with spring outfits, as spotted on SS20 runways.

Polka dots came in different sizes adding a bold statement to puffy-shoulders dresses and suits or creating a feminine pattern with its small sizes. Carolina Herrera’s velvet polka dots embellished the yellow tulle dress with ruffles. Also, Richard Quinn chose to add polka dots to a dress with puffed sleeves, bringing boldness to the design. Polka-dots and puffy shoulders were also seen at Balenciaga’s SS20 runway where they embellished a sky-blue suit with wide shoulders, covering stockings as well.
