Focaccia bread with thyme
2 tablespoons of instant yeast
1 and a half cup of cold water
1/2 cup of warm water
2 cups of flour
2 and a half cups of bread flour
1 tablespoon of salt
1/2 cup of olive oil
2 tablespoons of dried thyme
How to prepare
In a bowl, mix the yeast with cold and warm water and set aside for 5
Add flour and salt and knead the dough until it is homogeneous. Add 1/4 cup
of olive oil and cover the dough with oil on all sides, then cover with a
plastic container and set aside at room temperature for 4 hours until it
doubles in size.
Preheat the oven for 15 minutes, then turn off the oven. The dough is
kneaded from the sides towards the center several times until it forms a
circle. Lay it on a greased tray with olive oil. The dough is placed in the
oven for about two hours.
When it doubles in size, press it with fingers, then pour 2 tablespoons of
olive oil on it and garnish with thyme.
Put it in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until it turns brown.
Leave to cool for 5 minutes, then chop.
