“sneakerina” The shoe Trend for this Fall

A shoe that blends the ease of sneakers with the grace of ballet flats, the “sneakerina” has emerged as 2025’s most talked-about footwear. With its playful lines, sporty rubber sole, and delicate ballerina-inspired finishes it has already won over stars like Julia Roberts, spotted in a pair by eco-conscious label Vivaia at Venice airport.
Neither a classic sneaker nor a traditional flat, this hybrid design has quickly become a style statement. Its charm lies in the unexpected balance between athletic energy and romantic finesse, a formula also embraced by fashion darlings Alexa Chung, Bella Hadid, and Selena Gomez.
Though not entirely new, Skechers first introduced the silhouette in the early 2000s, the sneakerina is enjoying a revival thanks in part to Simone Rocha, who made the crossover style her signature with bold, ballet-inspired designs on oversized soles.
Today, luxury houses from Prada to Miu Miu are reimagining the trend, while brands like Repetto and Ganni offer their own innovative takes, fusing performance with elegance.
The appeal of the sneakerina lies in its versatility. Styled with denim and a tank top for a modern sportswear edge, or paired with tulle, ribbons, and lace for a romantic balletcore look, it reshapes how femininity is expressed, neither entirely delicate nor overtly athletic, but confidently both.
