The benefits of smiling
truth or myth?

The debates start with the question: does smiling create wrinkles or not? To be more straightforward, smiling or the simple fact of moving muscles does not simply “create” wrinkles and lines that make you look older. The wrinkles are a result of a distribution of fat and collagen and many other factors which mainly revolve around genetics. But it is only fair to state that smiling a lot can cause a hallow mark with time. we kind of understand Victoria Beckham and how fashion stole her smile now! But it’s up to you to choose if you want to keep your skin as neat as possible or to keep your face as smiley as possible.
It brings us closer to each other in a very delicate way too. Smiling affects not only the people who surround you but also its main target, you! When you smile you give a softer impression which makes people more likely to talk to you or approach you. In fact, smiling has a major role in changing your mood to a happier one since studies found that if you keep faking that you’re smiling you’ll eventually reach a point where it will give your mind the impression that you really are happy.
You might wonder why women smile more than men, right? Well, simply because people used to believe that feminine appearances are affiliated with smiles and giggles. And since, before women became so empowered and independent, people used to label them as the softer sex, males who held authoritarian places were much less likely to smile.
It’s not commonly interpreted everywhere in the same way. Even if in most countries smiling comes as an act of peace and happiness, it can be also translated in other countries as a sign of dishonesty or stupidity.
