MEET OFFICER DESHAUNA BARBER, MISS USA 2016
She's a real inspiration...

The elections of the new Miss USA took place on Sunday... and lucky winner's identity is far beyond our expectations. The winner of the pageant is an officer in the US Army, just that! Deshauna Barber, Miss District of Columbia, really earned this crown. In addition to her flawless features, Barber is a graduate of the State University of Virginia.
The 26 year-old beauty is the first-ever military service member to be crowned Miss USA. One of her goals as Miss USA is to help veterans returning home with PTSD.
She wants to break stereotypes of female soldiers. She wrote on Instagram, “Time to show that we as women are versatile, strong and can be anything we set our minds to!”
Barber says being in the military has taught her what it means to be confidently beautiful, and it’s “not always about your appearance”.
