From Kylie Minogue To Kate Moss: Celebrity Bangs For Inspiration

Kylie Minogue just proved that fringes are in and she’s not the only one as you will see in our edit of the best celeb bangs.

Bangs never go out of style while constantly updating throughout the years. This hair trend started decades ago, with Brigitte Bardot and France Gall among the first to adopt it, and it still continues to attract celebrities.

A never ending love story

The latest celebrity to go for bangs is Kylie Minogue (who has already adopted all bangs styles during her career). She posted on her Instagram account a photo for a BBC show where she appears with the cut of the season: a very long bob embellished with eye-level bangs.

This long option of bangs comes in opposition to the short bangs the Queen’s Gambit character, Beth Harmon, is reviving. Short bangs are indeed a more daring style and not everybody can pull it off the way Emma Watson did at the 75th Golden Globes ceremony, in January 2018.

Some celebs have made bangs their hairstyle signature, like Caroline de Maigret or singer Clara Luciani whom we have surely never seen them without their fringes. Or Suki Waterhouse who adopted at the beginning of her career a curtain fringe that highlighted her doll face. As for Monica Bellucci, Halle Berry, Sophie Marceau or even Naomi Campbell, bangs were at some point their go-to hair choice because they enhance their eyes and give their face a softer, even more youthful appearance.

DIY bangs without cutting your hair

While some celebs are true chameleons and aren't afraid of radical change, like Jennifer Lawrence, who goes from brown to blonde, short to long and from a bare forehead to full fringe, others are more cautious. So, for those of you who still hesitate to opt for the chop, there is no need to rush. With a little trick, it is possible, with a bun, to have the faux bangs of your dreams: make a high ponytail, then pull out a chunk of hair in the front of the tail, pulling it forward over your forehead, to make a bun with bangs. Twist the remaining hair around the bun and secure everything with bobby pins. This is how hairstylist Etienne Ortega created the updo for Kendall Jenner at the American Music Awards 2015, and how Rihanna rocked her bangs at the premiere of her animated movie Home. A great alternative to the hairpiece you clip on your hair, and an opportunity to have a little fun with your hair and to up your game for an evening look or for your holiday parties.
