Ingredients
2 cups of syrup
2 cups of fresh cream
1 and a half cup of water
3/4 cup of sugar
1 cup of fine semolina
2 cups of Akkawi cheese (soaked overnight with water to remove the salinity)
1 tablespoon of rose water
1 tablespoon of orange blossom water
Crushed pistachios for decoration
How to prepare
In a bowl over medium heat, add water and sugar, stirring continuously, until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, then add the semolina and stir until it thickens slightly.
Reduce heat, then add cheese, rose water and blossom water and stir until the cheese is completely melted and the mixture turns into a paste.
After it cools a little, divide the dough into two parts; Take some of it and put the second section aside, cover it. The first section is placed on plastic paper, then the dough is rolled out in a rectangular shape. It can be covered with cling film too to make it easier!
Fill with cream with a spoon, then roll it with plastic paper and close well. Chop it into small pieces.
