Zuhair Murad Spring-Summer 2027: When the Sun Whispers

There is a particular kind of Mediterranean summer that exists somewhere between memory and fantasy: sun on bare skin, salt in the air, flowers in full bloom and evenings that stretch long past sunset. For Spring-Summer 2027, Zuhair Murad turns that feeling into a wardrobe.
Titled “When the Sun Whispers,” the designer’s new collection channels the languid sensuality of La Dolce Vita through a distinctly 1970s lens. But rather than simply revisiting the decade, Murad distills its most seductive qualities—the freedom, the ease, the unabashed glamour—and places them in a distinctly modern context.
The woman at the heart of the collection dresses for the feeling. She is instinctive and self-assured, moving between the beach, the garden and the dinner table without ever losing her sense of elegance. The clothes follow her rather than dictate her, embracing movement, transparency and the body with a lightness that feels deliberately unrestrained.
Fluid silhouettes skim the figure, sheer layers reveal rather than conceal, and draping creates a dialogue between structure and softness. The pareo becomes one of the collection’s most compelling gestures, shifting effortlessly from beach essential to couture statement. It is this tension between the informal and the exceptional that gives the collection its character.
Colour is equally instinctive. Inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, ceramics, Murano glass and flowering gardens, the palette moves through saturated, sunlit tones that feel almost intensified by heat. Rather than functioning as decoration, colour becomes part of the collection’s atmosphere—vivid, generous and unapologetically alive.
And then there is the craft. Crochet, lace, embroidery and raffia bring an artisanal dimension to the otherwise fluid silhouettes, while intricate braiding, weaving and openwork techniques lend texture and depth. The hand of the petites mains is felt throughout, grounding the collection in the kind of meticulous craftsmanship that has long defined Murad’s couture vocabulary.
As the silhouettes evolve, the excess falls away. Volumes become lighter, lines more precise and draping increasingly sculptural. The result is not minimalism in the strict sense, but a more considered kind of glamour—one that understands that sometimes the most powerful statement is made through what is left undone.
