Have you ever wondered what your selfies can tell about your personality? Researchers at Brigham Young University have found that there are different reasons that explain our relentless need to take pictures of ourselves. Here are the three types of selfie-takers according to the study.
Autobiographers
An autobiographer’s selfies are a way to document their life events and preserve those moments in their memories through pictures.
Communicators
“A picture is worth a thousand words”. This saying is the perfect explanation for the communicators, as the selfie-taker can pass on a message with a single snap.
Self-Publicists
You’re probably thinking about the Kardashian clan, and you’re right. A self-publicist is a person who takes pictures of everything they do to please their ego.
However, it turns out that selfie-obsessed people aren’t just qualified as narcissistic; most of them, in the contrary, need to take selfies to boost their confidence. Plus, the more you receive likes and comments on your photos, the more you feel satisfied with yourself.
