The “New year new me” list is almost ready on all levels; we’re just adding the tooth gems trend that’s all over TikTok and we’ll be good to go.
2021 was full of ups and downs, but there was sure one thing that definitely had an uplifting effect on our mood amid the pandemic and it’s definitely getting vaccinated first, and TikTok second. The platform never failed in introducing the newest trends, but also announcing comebacks with modern vibes and the tooth gems are one of those.
If you’ve scrolled through TikTok you’ve obviously noticed the tooth piercings (aka tooth gems) with a hashtag that’s seen by more than 60 million users. These piercings were a major hit in the 2000s and are coming back thanks to TikTok. Similar jewelry has long been a part of Latino culture where it’s the tradition to fill the gap between the teeth with precious stones. And here’s the big news: major TikTokers and A-listers are hopping on the trend!
After watching several TikTok videos, we’ve come to a conclusion that you can place those gems on your own, or you can go o a specialized salon to get them done perfectly.
The gems are temporary, which means there's no drilling or pain required (thank God), plus there's pretty much no downtime.
Most gems can last up to six weeks (or even two years) with proper care, however we highly beg you to consult a professional if you're looking to try this style yourself.
