When it comes to gel polishes and acrylics nails, it is recommended not to peel them off roughly, because it would result in long-lasting damage to nail beds. Thus, if you need an urgent manicure during lockdown, here are 2 safe ways to remove gel and acrylics at home.
First Method
To remove gel and acrylics, you must be very careful to avoid damaging your nails. Thus, the best way to do this is to dunk the nails in acetone.

You’ll Need:
Acetone
Buffer
Vaseline or petroleum gel
Moisturizer
How to do it:
Carefully use a buffer to buff the top of your nails. Fill a small container with acetone, but before you dunk your nail in it, Apply Vaseline or petroleum gel to the skin surrounding your nails to protect it. Dunk your nails for 30 mins then use the buffer again to remove any remaining acrylic residue. Don’t forget to Moisturize your hands.
Second Method
Some prefer to remove gel and acrylics using aluminum foil. To do it at home, follow these steps:

You’ll need:
Cotton
Aluminum foil
Acetone
How to do it:
First take 10 cotton balls and 10 small aluminum foils (for each nail): Dip the cotton with acetone before applying it to gel polish or acrylic nails, then wrap your nails with aluminum foil. Leave it for at least 20 minutes. Now remove gently remaining residue using the nail buffer puffer. Moisturize your hands.
