Nyakim Gatwech is a 24 year old model from the South of Sudan who was dubbed ‘queen of the dark’, because well, she has one of the darkest skins in the world.

Despite how beautiful and unique her midnight complexion is, haters are always there to lower her self-esteem, but she doesn’t let anyone put her down. Once, an Uber driver asked her if she would bleach her skin for $10,000, and her answer was everything. She laughed so hard she couldn’t speak, and then asked the man ‘why on earth would I ever bleach this beautiful melanin?’

Having nearly 100,000 Instagram followers, the queen of the dark loves to boost our moods by sharing inspirational messages to promote self-empowerment and positivity. “Dear moonshine dark skin, sun-kissed complexion, burned skin or whatever they might call you: you are beyond beautiful and the love I have for you is unconditional because you are me”, says Nyakim in one of her Instagram posts.

“I love every part it. I love the fact my skin is unique and that my whole skin is one tone, and finally how soft my skin is,” she told Yahoo Beauty. We would kill to have this woman’s self-esteem!
