Models Size 0 Can No Longer Work for Those Brands
12-September-2017
On September 6th, the day before the New York Fashion Week, French brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Dior, Marc Jacobs and Saint Laurent banned size 0 models and aged under 16. These French luxury giants have adopted a common charter on 'work relations and the welfare of models' to prohibit the hiring of these models.
This decision was taken following the controversy about the work conditions of the models at the Paris Fashion Week in February.
Models are now required to obtain a physical and mental health certificate after a medical examination every two years, and their body mass index (BMI) must exceed 18.5.
