This year’s competition gathered representatives from 120 countries, among them Lebanon’s Sarah Leena Abou Jaoude and Nadeen Ayoub, who made history as the first woman to represent the Palestinian people at Miss Universe, reaching the top 30 before her elimination.
Thailand’s Praveenar Singh finished as first runner-up, followed by Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, and Ivory Coast’s Olivia Yacé completing the top five.
Hosted by American comedian Steve Byrne, the finale opened with a performance by Thai singer Jeff Satur and unfolded with the grandeur expected from what is often dubbed the “Super Bowl” of beauty pageants.
But behind the glamour, this season was overshadowed by a series of controversies that captivated global audiences and even included the new Miss Universe herself. Earlier in November, Bosch walked out of an official event after being reprimanded publicly by Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil, who accused her of failing to produce enough promotional content for his country. The exchange escalated when security was called to escort her out, prompting several contestants to leave the room in solidarity.
The incident sparked international criticism, including from Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum, who condemned the treatment.
Tensions deepened days later when two judges resigned—one alleging that the competition had been rigged—intensifying scrutiny of the organization.
Despite the drama, Bosch’s win marks a decisive end to one of the most contentious Miss Universe seasons in recent memory.
