Since her appoitment as Dior's first female creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri went into the universe of expressive dance, 1960s protests, and even rodeos for inspiration on the runway. Be that as it may, for the design house's Spring 2019 Haute Couture exhibition, Chiuri entered a new area with an all-out Dior Circus.
The show, which was held inside a genuine carnival tent along the Dior logo, took inspiration from the " fantastical creative chaos" of the well-established type of diversion. There were gestures to jokesters and buffoons, however most shocking was the live aerobatic execution that took place.
As models strolled the runway, a group of trapeze artists from the all-female circus company Mimbre performed nearby the catwalks. Shaping a human passage and different tricks, the acrobats wore highly contrasting playsuits as they zigzagged all around the runway's looks. Including ladies remaining on one another's shoulders as a method for help. Chiuri made her introduction in a "We Should All Be Feminists" motto shirt, the planner has utilized the runway to commend female specialists in different courses in the course of the last couple of seasons.
"The circus is presented as a place of inclusion in which the clown, through its androgynous and asexual dimension, becomes the expression of a possible equality and an evocation of modernity—one where beauty, origin, gender and age are no longer important, and only technique and daring matter," the show notes concluded.
