The German Aerospace and Space Administration, on behalf of the US space agency NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), has announced the need for two volunteers to stay two months in bed for $ 19,000.
Fox said NASA is offering the tempting amount of people who will be lying on bed for two months as part of experiments aimed at a better understanding of the impact of industrial gravity on the human body. Negative effects, lack of gravity on the human body.
NASA has asked 24 volunteers and volunteers for 12 females and 12 males between the ages of 24 and 55, ranging in length and having the capacity to speak German. The volunteers will be staying at a medical research facility of the Institute of Space Medicine at the German Space Center in Cologne.
All experiments, meals and leisure activities will be carried out during bed rest periods. During the study, volunteers will be restricted in their movements to ensure no pressure on the muscles and tendons and the skeletal system is reduced.
Scientists are expected to test the cognitive abilities of volunteers, muscle strength, balance and cardiovascular function. Comparing physical degradation of the two groups, researchers hope to see data that will help mitigate the long-term impact astronauts have on space travel.
It is worth mentioning that those who wish to apply for the offer can call the German Aerospace Center at +49 2203 601 3472, provided that the above conditions are met.
