There is a liberating power of sadness in the Fall 2021 Couture collection of Maison Rabih Kayrouz. Well you can’t be Lebanese and now feel a huge sadness mixed with repressed anger and rage nowadays. You can’t see your country, one of the most beautiful places God created on this planet, collapse and not feel a crushing sadness. If you are Lebanese, that’s what you feel when you take a look at this new collection of Maison Rabih Kayrouz, but if you’re not Lebanese, you will see perfectly cut see airy dresses, an embellished trench coat, a revisited tuxedo, a fringed oversized coat…exceptional designs where couture meets wearable fashion. An art mastered by the Lebanese designer.

In this Couture Fall 2021 collection, Maison Rabih Kayrouz transforms “Les Essentiels” through Haute Couture and turns them into “Les Exceptionnels”. “I wanted to take clothing from my essential wardrobe and transform it into something exceptional,” says the Lebanese designer who was badly injured and saw his atelier and showroom destroyed during the August 4th Beirut explosion. The fine wool jacket becomes a tuxedo with an open back. A double gabardine trench coat is perfected with embroideries, or “embroidered with memories” he said. The cashmere coat is dramatized coming alive with velvet bangs. “Clothes, objects, all are intertwined, treasured and passed on” Kayrouz explained.
It’s Couture, Baby! But in Maison Rabih Kayrouz’s way, a modern, contemporary and wearable Couture, And we love it!
