A new oriental floral fragrance to discover this season

A variation of Shalimar, Guerlain’s 2011 Shalimar Parfum Initial has been reissued and now joins the Les Parisiennes Collection as L’Initial. Thanks to this exclusive new edition, this acclaimed oriental floral fragrance can now be rediscovered by perfume lovers and insiders.

 

Listening to the opinions of its loyal customers, the Guerlain House therefore opted to reissue some of its best-loved perfumes. To the delight of many, these sleeping beauties have since been woken from their slumber and now form Les Parisiennes, an exquisitely chic fragrance collection.

 

As a tribute to this perfumery masterpiece, House Perfumer Thierry Wasser composed a new signature in which he “kept the alchemy that makes it so desirable, brightened it without reining it in, altered it without betraying it and looked to the future while still honoring the past.” He offered a new Shalimar experience, without the overt opulent sensuality of a woman’s perfume, but still with all the spirit of its unforgettable signature. It was a daring, yet delicate approach to such a treasure in the perfumery world. As soon as this new facet to this legendary perfume was discovered, Shalimar Parfum Initial captured the hearts of many.

Sketched with airiness, Shalimar Parfum Initial was created as a light imprint of the original, mythic 1925 fragrance by Guerlain: Shalimar.

 

FRAGRANT ORIGINS

This Eau de Parfum is showcased in the iconic Bee bottle in soft peach and pastel shades. Paired with a matching grosgrain ribbon which has been delicately tied around its neck by the “Dames de Table” of the Guerlain Ateliers, it is topped with a meticulously placed gold name label. Each bottle comes nestled in an elegantly rich amethyst-coloured “leather-feel” case (which makes for a perfect jewellery box).

 

 

L’INITIAL, FIRST-TIME THRILLS

The thrill of discovery, the adrenaline of a first-time encounter, the feeling of being ready to jump into the unknown, or dive into a new mystery. A fresh awakening, a bright and fresh interpretation, a showcase of Shalimar’s signature iris, vanilla and bergamot ingredients. As an oriental floral, L’Initial sparkles with orange and bergamot citrus zest under a shower of highly perfumed jasmine petals. Its heart opens with large doses of Turkish Rose absolute and Pallida iris, while its full, soft and tender base delights with rich vanilla covered in delectable caramel, hints of almond and delicately smooth Tonka bean. All encapsulated in misty clouds of white musk. Sensuality at its most innocent.
