13 Women Join Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Council

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is taking another step forward to empower Saudi women, allowing them to invest more in their skills and to prove their influence in society leading them to assume leadership positions.

 In the latest updates, Saudi Arabia gathers with 13 new female members to the Human Rights Council (HRC) for its fourth term; which means half the positions were given to women.

In this regard, Dr. Awad bin Saleh Al-Awwad, President of the Human Rights Council, said that this step is "a part of the continuous efforts of the Kingdom to empower women by taking leadership positions in different fields, and it is a step to achieve what the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques plans to do in order to serve this country."

Awad also thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for this royal decree and for the great impact in promoting the protection of human rights under  the directions of the Kingdom.

These accomplishments are part of the program led by the Saudi Prince Crown to achieve the 2030 Vision, which is an economic post-oil plan that focuses particularly on women's rights in the Kingdom.
