Spotted on the runways during Fashion Week, this bold hue will be the color of next summer.

In Paris, London, New York, and Milan, a vibrant shade made a splash on the runways of the Spring-Summer 2024 collections: cobalt blue, to which a significant place in next summer's wardrobes is predicted, either as accents or in a total look. This particularly luminous shade came into existence in 1802, under the hand of the French chemist Louis Jacques Thénard. Slightly lighter than royal blue, it is no less intense. Positioned between azure and lapis lazuli, cobalt falls into the category of vibrant, bold, and assertive hues.

This bold blue, which gives body to silhouettes, was seen in various ways. At Miu Miu, it appeared on a sporty-looking skirt, in micro-details like the elastic of shorts peeking out to draw attention to a point. When paired with black, brown, and mustard yellow, it combines with metallic red at Balmain, where it's featured on a pleated skirt. Or at Burberry, which takes the edge off a military-style jacket this way. At Givenchy and Sacai, the color goes big, making a statement as a total look, on a long suede dress or a shorter model with layered knit. It already invites us to see life in blue.
