In Twisted Romance, Zimmermann embarks on a voyage through nostalgia, femininity, and the fantasy ofescape: a Cruise 26 collection that reimagines pirate folklore through the soft-focus lens of modern romance.

The visual references come from classic pirate movies and old-world adventure books like Treasure Island, where illustrations, imagined scenes, and maritime symbols provide rich inspiration.

Engaging a playful, everyday-dress-ups approach throughout the design process, Zimmermann reimagines the nostalgic pirate iconography through a distinctly modern lens. Voluminous sleeves, bold ruffles, draped, billowing silhouettes and corset details.

Nautical stripes, raw-cut frills, military brocade, and maritime prints reinforce the theme. Vintage-style cartographic prints drift across silk georgette, cut to move like water. Shell-like shapes frame collar sand sleeves, while airy skirts trail seaweed-like strands.
