George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts... The Enchanting Red Carpet of the Venice Film Festival 2025

Every year, Venice draws the elite of the film world, and this edition—running from August 27 to September 6—is no exception. Among the stars presenting their latest work are George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Colman Domingo, Emma Stone, Sofia Coppola, and Julia Roberts. On the directing side, the festival celebrates the highly anticipated return of Kathryn Bigelow and Park Chan-wook, absent from Venice for two decades. The opening night was marked by Paolo Sorrentino’s premiere of his latest film La Grazia.

When it comes to cinema, fashion is never far behind—and this year promises dazzling style. Even before the official opening night, celebrities were already making their mark on the red carpet. Cate Blanchett turned heads in a black floor-length Armani Privé gown, featuring a plunging neckline adorned with jewel-like embellishments.

Tilda Swinton, true to her role as Chanel ambassador, lit up the evening in a bespoke two-tone Chanel creation. Heidi Klum and her daughter chose flowing silk dresses accented with corset-inspired details reminiscent of lingerie.

Past editions of the festival have also left a lasting style legacy. Just last year, Angelina Jolie stunned in a “Old Hollywood” inspired look, wearing a nude Tamara Ralph gown paired with a bold faux-fur collar.
