The Middle Eastern fashion scene is shifting and becoming better than ever; AAVVA, the Dubai-based couture house brought Middle Eastern artistry to the International stage, presenting a collection that bridges architecture, and emotion in sculptural couture to Yerevan, opening Yerevan Fashion Week 2025.
YFW features over 20 Runway Shows for emerging and established designers from Armenia, UAE, Moldova, Russia, and many other countries with collections centered around themes of innovation, sustainability, and cultural expression.
Inspired by Michelangelo’s masterpiece “Pietà,” from a single block of Carrara marble, AAVVA’s collection reimagined divine grace and sorrow through contemporary design.
From this eternal image, Lebanese engineer Ahmad Ammar and Brazilian architect Vincenzo Visciglia, drew the narrative, translating sacred stillness into movement, and stone into fabric. Each silhouette mirrored the serenity of sacred statues — structured yet fluid, spiritual yet sensual — crafted with architectural precision and artistic soul.
The color palette embodied symbolic depth:
Beige and ivory, echoing the serenity and radiance of marble;
Red, representing sacrifice and redemption;
White lilies, symbolizing purity, fertility, and resurrection.
“Opening Yerevan Fashion Week with Pietà was more than a showcase,” said Vincenzo Visciglia, Co-Founder of AAVVA.” it’s was a celebration of emotion through design. This collection is our way of translating faith, art, and humanity into couture. Each piece carries a story carved from devotion and crafted with the same precision that defines our architectural roots.”
