In this spirit, the designer surprises us with a collection revealed from the heart of one of France’s rarest and most iconic palaces: the historic Vaux-le-Vicomte, a 17th-century architectural masterpiece that epitomises classical opulence through the perfect dialogue between the palace and its enchanting gardens. A primary source of inspiration for the Palace of Versailles, Vaux-le-Vicomte remains to this day an enduring symbol of royal splendor and refined artistry. Its doors are rarely opened for fashion productions, making the choice of this location an event in itself, one that lends the collection an unmistakably exclusive and exceptional aura.
It is here that the creative designer chose to stage the soul and essence of “Majesty.” Within this mythical setting, Ziad Nakad transports us back to an era of authentic elegance and true refinement, as the palace’s majestic walls echo the collection’s identity and aesthetic depth in every detail.
Harmony of Colours and Fabrics
“Majesty” unfolds like an elaborate artistic canvas, rich in detail and emotion. Dreamlike colour palettes blend shades of blush, rosewood, gold, silver, and white, accented with touches of light and deep blue and warm brown. Bold contrasts emerge within a single gown, particularly between white and navy, while other designs transform into fluid compositions of intertwined hues, evoking a sense of royal luxury and elevated drama.
The corset stands out as a central design element, appearing at times in structured forms and at others adorned with cascading beaded cords and lace-inspired ties drawn from legends of queens and noble maidens. These details offer a clear nod to medieval elegance and majestic royal gowns. Voluminous silhouettes further enhance the theatrical presence of certain pieces, reinforcing the woman as the focal point and true essence of the look. The collection relies on sumptuous fabrics such as mousseline, organza, and embellished tulle, all elevated by meticulous hand embroidery, crystals, and luminous stones that reaffirm the collection’s royal spirit. Soft feathers and pearls grace select designs, while cascading beaded threads sway gracefully with movement. Three-dimensional leaf-shaped embroideries merge seamlessly with undulating colour waves, infusing the pieces with a contemporary poetic dimension.
