London Fashion Week February 2018 Recap
23-February-2018

This year’s London Fashion Week took place on Friday February 16 and Tuesday February 20 at the BFC Show Space in England’s capital, where hundreds of models showed off the collections of the best fashion designers in London. Take a look at the LFW 2018 recap!
Gay Pride
Burberry’s chief creative officer Christopher Bailey opted for an autobiographical collection inspired by the LGBT youth. From rainbow plaids to grungy puffer jackets and shearlings, those pieces let Bailey’s message of pride and acceptance reach a bigger audience. And guess who closed the show? It was none other than Cara Delevingne, one of Bailey’s most enthusiastic supporters. Even the members of the audience showed support for LGBT: Paris Jackson was spotted in the audience wearing a black and red blouse with rainbow stripes on her left sleeve.
The School of the Unconventional
It’s practically impossible to forget the weirdest, most unconventional shows of the 2018 London Fashion Week. Let’s take the fashion college Central Saint Martins for example. The school known for launching the careers of fashions’s elites like Alexander McQueen chose to entertain us with models dressed as dummies and swimming pools. Some models walked the runway wearing helium balloons as headpieces and Trumpetto heels. In case you were wondering what it means, they’re high-heeled shoes with actual Donald Trump rubber masks fashioned into the stilettos!
Escaping a World of Technologies
The Ashley Williams catwalk was one of a kind. Inspired by Stonehenge, a prehistoric monument in England, Williams’s collection was all about “ditching technology and exploring the U.K. and all its monolithic marvels.” The collection featured furry sandals with the word “anxiety” written across the top in crystals and other pieces included the words “sex” and “Don’t know, don’t care”. The message she’s trying to share is that “escapist fantasies only serve to highlight what you’re missing on Instagram”.
Blanket Statements
Clutching blankets over the shoulder is not only a glamorous fashion statement, but it’s also insanely trendy thanks to Roksanda and Mother of Pearl’s old Hollywood fashion shows. At Roksanda, the blankets were paired with baby blue, butter yellow and bubblegum pink silk outfits to give it a more casual touch. At Mother of Pearl, they neatly rolled them as picnic blankets under their arms.
