Chanel on the 79th Cannes International Film Festival

The 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival once again highlighted the timeless presence of Chanel on the red carpet with each embodying a distinct expression of the house’s elegance and craftsmanship.

Tao Okamoto, attending the screening of All of a Sudden, wore a delicate CHANEL creation in soft tones of pink, beige, and pale yellow. The dress was crafted in silk, lace, and chiffon, intricately embroidered with floral motifs and adorned with camellia details, one of the house’s most iconic symbols. She completed the look with CHANEL earrings and beauty by CHANEL Makeup, resulting in a romantic and luminous presence on the red carpet.

Meanwhile, Marion Cotillard, long-standing CHANEL ambassador, opted for a bold yet refined silhouette from the CHANEL Cruise 2027 collection. Her look featured a black leather dress layered over a raffia underskirt (Look 51), paired with CHANEL shoes and exquisite High Jewelry pieces.

Her styling included the IMPRESSION FLORALE earrings in 18K yellow gold and diamonds from the CHANEL High Jewelry “Coromandel” collection, a line inspired by the poetic beauty of Coromandel screens and the house’s enduring fascination with floral symbolism, especially the camellia.

On may 15, American actress Kristen Stewart and Chanel ambassador, wore a bold black and red silk dress from the CHANEL Fall-Winter 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection. She completed her look with CHANEL shoes and exquisite High Jewelry pieces that added depth and intensity to the look.

Among her accessories was the COMÈTE HARMONIE ring in 18K white gold, onyx, and diamonds from the “1932” High Jewelry collection. Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s fascination with celestial motifs, the piece reflects the idea of stars as protective symbols of light and destiny. Reinterpreting the iconic Comète aesthetic, the ring captures a balance between graphic contrast and poetic symbolism—elements deeply rooted in CHANEL’s heritage.

She also wore the PREMIÈRE RIBBON watch in red, crafted in yellow gold and titanium with a velvet-touch rubber strap and a red lacquered dial set with diamonds. The design echoes Gabrielle Chanel’s lifelong attachment to the color red, reimagined here in a modern, feminine interpretation of the House’s iconic timepiece.
