Tired of Exercising? Just Take a Hot Bath
It burns as many calories!
16-July-2018
Sick and tired of walking miles and miles every day only to find out you’ve burned just a few calories? Just relax, take a hot bath and burn those calories while staying squeaky clean from the comfort of your own home!
According to Dr. Steve Faulkner, a researcher at Loughborough University, taking a hot bath has the same exact result as taking a 30-minute walk: not only does it burn the same amount of calories, but it also helps to prevent type 2 diabetes. Scientists call this “passive heating”.
"The overall blood sugar response to both conditions was similar, but peak blood sugar after eating was about 10% lower when participants took a hot bath compared with when they exercised," says Dr. Faulkner. "This suggests that repeated passive heating may contribute to reducing chronic inflammation, which is often present with long-term diseases, such as type 2 diabetes."
In case we’re nowhere to be found, check the bathroom, because we’ll be spending a long, long time in there after this amazing discovery!
