A tropical atmosphere

Zuhair Murad is among the Lebanese designers whose ateliers were affected by the explosion that hit Beirut on the 4th of August. The designer who’s behind “Rising from the Ashes” initiative, and who released his new book earlier, launched his Ready-to-Wear Spring Summer 2021 collection and we fell in love with every single design. Get a look on the collection and choose your favorites!
Inspired by the work of Henri Rousseau, the French post-impressionist painter who is known for his luxuriant jungle landscapes, the Lebanese designer imagined a woman in full harmony, blooming with romance and passion at the same time. We saw that in Passion flowers and Calathea plants spread over fluid silk dresses and blouses with caped sleeves.
We couldn’t but notice the classical but modern black and ecru jumpsuits and pantsuits made with pure and structured lines. Slits are delicately cut out and necklines gave elegant vibes. Silk sleeves and ruffles featured on dresses and shirts caught our attention.
A red carpet designer par excellence, Zuhair Murad is renowned for the embellished red-carpet gowns that make every woman look like a princess. In the Spring 2021 collection, the embroidered gowns came in bright shades and in sparkling gold.
And finally, in a nod to the dazzling 80’s, we saw shimmering gold lamé and power shoulders in jumpsuits, mini dresses and suits; the Zuhair Murad woman will definitely be shining next spring.
