As the Emirates celebrate the country’s national day on the second of December, we decided to celebrate the years of tireless efforts of the creatives and entrepreneurs of their country in the fashion sector. From luxury accessories to contemporary streetwear on to the most elegant abayas, her are three influential Emirati women designers to start including their designs in your wardrobes. 

Sheikha Madiyah Al Sharqi

Being the daughter of the Fujairah ruler, Sheikha Madiyah al Sharqi was exposed to fine tailoring and beautiful designs since she was young, so having the passion for design just made sense. Upon graduating from the Ecole Superieure des arts et techniques de la mode (ESMOD), Madiyah launched her namesake label in 2012.

Classic, timeless, and contemporary describe well the Madiyah Al Sharqi woman. The emirati designer knows well when and how to include embroideries and focus on the feminine vibe. Not only Arab influencers among whom Nour Arida and Rym Saidi are her fans, but she also made it to celebrities’ wardrobes including Kris Jenner, Alessandra Ambrosio, Nicole Richie and others.
