Lebanese lentil soup

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of olive oil

1 onion, chopped

1 and a half cup of red lentils

1/2 cup of rice

1 carrot, chopped

1 teaspoon of cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

7 cups of water

1 lemon (juice)

 

How to prepare

In a pot over a stove, cook the onions in oil until golden.

Add the lentils, rice, carrots, cumin, pepper and salt and cook under continuous stirring for 3 minutes.

Add water and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and cook for about 30 minutes, stirring from time to time.

Puree the mixture in an electric mixer, then add the lemon juice and serve the soup hot.
