Dolce & Gabbana’s First Digital Haute Couture Collection
Was it better than traditional runway?

Despite its huge impact on the world of fashion, the coronavirus pandemic couldn’t stop designers from presenting new collections for AW 2020. Dolce & Gabbana was the first luxury house to reveal its new haute Alta Gioielleria collection digitally.
From now on, fashion houses will adopt a new concept due to the consequences of Covid-19, including saying goodbye to the traditional runway and welcoming the digital display of collections. This means, Dolce & Gabbana will no longer be able to invite their so-called customers "Queens" to attend the real show, but try to transmit the same ambiance virtually, a challenge raised consequently. As you know the show must go on against all odds, and fashion houses must get used to the new normal.
Inside the Dolce & Gabbana Palazzo, walls and murals decorated with baroque gold details and ornaments embodied the timeless elegance of Dolce & Gabbana’s new haute couture pieces. Palazzo Dolce & Gabbana was an ideal alternative to traditional runaway, elegantly matching the luxurious designs of the Italian house, which created a beautiful sophisticated painting.
Dolce & Gabbana’s couture collection was inspired by "Italian holidays, glamour and timeless elegance". The Italian glamour was interpreted by colorful silk scarves in baroque and motifs. They were the heart of the collection, spotted on kaftan, dresses and kimonos. Ostrich feathers, bold oversized jewelry gem stones such as amethyst, tourmaline and diamonds embellished Dolce & Gabbana’s designs. Elegance at its very finest; crystal-embellished robes and flowing gowns paired with floral headpieces and oversized statement sun hats. In Brief, it’s your dream holiday wardrobe!
On a side note, Paris Fashion Week for haute couture week starts from 6 till 8 July, where fashion houses and activists will experience their first virtual fashion shows including Christian Dior, Giambattista Valli, Schiaparelli, Chanel, Maison Margiela and Valentino.
