Hermès Ready-To-Wear SS 2021

Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski, artistic director of the French house Hermès, presented last Saturday the House’s Women Ready-to-wear Spring/Summer 2021 collection during Paris Fashion week.

The collection offered elegant, feminine, and attractive looks designed for girls of this generation, was warmly applauded. Let’s dig deeper into the collection.

The Setup

Inside the Tennis Club De Paris, everything is black, but we can already guess the silhouettes of the collection with the models standing on a concrete podium with mirrors and columns covered with art collages in black and white signed by Berlin artist Claudia Wieser. Lights came on, and here are Hermès girls!

The spirit

This wardrobe that featured colors of the skin covered the models’ body with sensuality without even a little hint on vulgarity, keeping the natural chic that makes you reach a peace of mind while watching. All in a palette of elegant monochromes - black and white, beige and terracotta brown - crossed with sky blue and fiery red bursts.

The collection

From the details and staples we spotted, high-cut bodysuits worn over flowing trousers in light silk twill printed with black and white patterns, nude skirts in supple, knee-length leather of an extreme beauty, light beige or blue coats of infinite softness, micro dresses with openwork sleeves, Prince of Wales pants and flared shirts with a soft femininity and a whole range of apron dresses in leather or twill worn as second skin. It's devilishly beautiful!

We loved: satin bands that covered the breasts and that can be worn alone under leather jackets or zipped jackets.

Special features: All Hermès girls have studded clogs in shiny black or white in their feet, casual and chic shoes.

The beauty detail: We noticed the brand new Hermès lipsticks on the models’ lips.

What Carole Matray, Fashion Editor, saw

“Minimalism and rigor at Hermès. We loved the colors that make you think of the house's latest lipstick palette: glossy brown, beige, orange, red. This leather-cage dress with a minimalist nineties spirit, the incredible work of reminiscent of the baskets of dresses from past centuries but which, worn short with a top-down effect and leather clogs, is ultra-modern".
