The Renowned international model, fashion icon and advocate for women's rights and bodies has been announced as a judge for the Miss Lebanon Pageant 2024. But during the ceremony, Arida has given each contestant the highest score of 9.95, a groundbreaking move that kept everyone wondering why she would give all contestants a perfect score.
Emphasizing her commitment to redefining beauty standards and promoting self-confidence among women, Nour later revealed that even as jury member, she refuses to “judge” women as every girl and every woman possesses inherent beauty and worth.
Nour, who has long been celebrated for her work in championing body positivity and personal empowerment, stated:
"Today, I aimed to tell every young girl watching the show - whether she is struggling with mental health issues, body image concerns, or any other challenge - that she is beautiful and unique. To the woman watching and reminiscing about the past - thinking she has aged and lost her charm - I want to tell her that her beauty is still a 10/10. Beauty has no shape, no size, and no grade - and what better place to remind the girls of that, than a beauty event in itself?”
Nour’s approach reflects a significant shift in the traditional pageant model, where subjective standards of beauty often overshadow individual uniqueness. Arida's 10/10 score symbolize a move towards an inclusive definition of beauty, one that celebrates diverse forms and expressions.
With Nour’s influence and strong message during Miss Lebanon in specific set a precedent for future competitions. Her perspective underscores the importance of self-acceptance and challenges the conventional norms, fostering an environment where all contestants can shine on their own terms.
In a video interview, the Lebanese influencer explained to Special Madame Figaro Arabia her transformative vision that promises to elevate the dialogue surrounding beauty and self-esteem.
